In this role, you will:

An IT Sr. Project Manager takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of the most complex programs and projects (typically greater than 12 months, with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies), ensuring that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained. Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the budget and manages expectations of all stakeholders. This role may contain supervisory responsibilities for other project and/or program managers. When that occurs, the incumbent also has accountability for working with team members on all aspects of leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development and training.

Scope/Categories

Role will report to the Director, Global Infrastructure and Operations leader and will have no direct reports.

Key Interfaces: Business Client, Business Partner, Business Analyst, Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect and/or Project Managers. External Interfaces: Consultant and/or 3rd Party provider. Travel may include approximately 0-30% of work time .

Key Accountabilities

  • Evaluates the financial, cultural, technological, organizational and environmental factors which must be addressed in change programs. Assesses the implications of new processes on both people and organization and identifies the activities necessary to ensure a smooth transition to new processes.

  • Determines, monitors, and reviews all program and project economics, including program costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, program resources, and program risk, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements, supported by comprehensive reporting.

  • Plans, directs, co-ordinates, monitors, and reports on activities related to the program or project, from contract/proposal initiation to final operational stage.

  • Monitors and controls allocated human and material resources, associated revenue costs and all capital costs against the project budget. Ensures that a change control procedure is in place, and actively used to assess the effect of changes to the projects on costs, timescale and/or resource needs and reports these to project sponsors.

  • Leads one or more project teams; allocating and monitoring tasks, motivating staff and appraising individual performance. Liaises with other managers within the IT functions and within the business; manages expectations of all project stakeholders.

  • Takes responsibility for the delivery of high-profile projects and programs of work, typically with large budgets, establishing and maintaining the correct structures to control and monitor the deliverables to the business.

  • Leads project planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting activities for strategic, high impact, high risk projects, ensuring that comprehensive project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and maintained.

  • Ensures that realistic estimates of costs, timescales and resource requirements are agreed and carries out the monitoring of projects against these criteria, taking corrective action as necessary.

  • Manages risk and ensures that any strategic problems are identified at the earliest opportunity and that solutions are identified and implemented, in line with change control processes.

  • Defines and makes recommendations on the project management framework for own projects, including creation and composition of the steering group or project board, identification of project sponsor and stakeholders. Actively contributes to, and is recognized for contributions to, the project manager community. This includes coaching other project managers and continuously improving project management-related processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.

  • Require 8+ years of demonstrated success as a project manager driving large IT projects in complex, matrix, multi-national corporate environments, executing across multiple time-zones and cultures;

  • Has in-depth knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques for the effective management of programs and projects, from initiation through to implementation.

  • Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory.

  • Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the K-C organization including suppliers, partners and customers. Collaborates well with program and project team members, staying proactive to anticipate opportunities and direct activities to achieve strategic program business goals while motivating the team.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and approach to leading programs and projects is required, with strong executive presence and ability to influence customer expectations. Can effectively navigate conflict between multiple business constituents and appropriately balance risk with business value.

  • Is familiar with a range of analysis, modelling and design methods; has broad current knowledge of IT standards, applications and trends. Can facilitate the analysis of business processes, and articulate potential changes to business processes in a lucid and cogent manner, both orally and in writing.

  • Broadly skilled in information and communications technology, including digital commerce. Has a comprehensive knowledge of relevant development life-cycles and strong interpersonal skills.

Nice to have:

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (or equivalent) is strongly preferred, but not required.

  • Experience working a global organization with teams in multiple regions and time zones
